Peter Calthorpe, Internationally-known planner and architect, is a
pioneer of an approach to community development and urban design
known as 'the new urbanism.' The focus of his work is mixed-use
master planning with a concern for creating communities that
promote a sense of connectedness, encouraging people to know their
neighbors, and making parks, schools and stores accessible by foot.
