As demand for organic produce booms, more and more small farmers
across the country are converting to an innovative new system
called the CSA, writes Bob Banner in the Santa Barbara-based
magazine
HopeDance. 'The CSA (Community Supported
Agriculture) is a relatively new marketing approach to farming
where subscribers pay money up front for the season (amounting to
approximately $16 a week). In return, the subscriber receives a
weekly cooler of vegetables along with a newsletter with updates
about the farm, recipes on what to do with those vegetables that
you might not even know the name of.'
