Since when can you find butch dykes and long embarrassing emotional processing scenes in porn? Since now: Shar Rednour and Jackie Strano, two sex-positive dykes in San Francisco, bring 'real lesbian sex' to mainstream skin flicks. Unlike other girl-girl smut, the only silicone you'll find on these actors is strapped between their legs. In a rather graphically worded article (not for the faint of heart), San Francisco Bay Guardian film reviewer Michelle Tea points out Rednour and Strano's attention to detail in using quality sex toys, not the 'plasticky, weird stuff found in porn stores' that most big-budget pornos use. All of the hard work that Rednour and Strano have put into making their films (including putting out classified ads for exhibitionist lesbians) finally paid off. Recently, the Adult Video News Awards, the Oscars of smut, took notice and nominated their latest double feature, 'Hard Love' and 'How to Fuck in High Heels,' for the Best All-Girl Scene and Feature awards. Tea gushes, 'That it was nominated by the big players is shocking. And I was there with the winning dykes at the AVN Awards to see it all happen.'
