Crows are Calculating Theives and Other Stories,
Kathleen Wong and Matthew Bettelheim, Environmental News Network
Did you know that crows can be just as conniving as their homo sapien counterparts? Left-brained crows are adept at stealing tasty morsels from members of their own flock, while pretending to protect family members and friends. Crows are "most likely to snatch foods that were difficult to process, such as crabs that require pecking or dropping to access the meat," writes Kathleen Wong and Matthew Bettelheim for the Environmental News Network. Their story combines these findings and other newly discovered facts about animals, including how bats use an intricate balance of sonar and silence to find their prey.
