A coalition of publishers and environmentalists wants to green the
magazine industry. The Paper Project, a joint creation of Co-op
America, Conservatree, and the Independent Press Association,
encourages small and large publishers to shift to recycled paper.
The three-year-old project offers a paper-buying cooperative for
small publishers, which ordinarily wouldn't have enough buying
power themselves to afford the higher-priced recycled paper, and
pressures large publishers, like Condé Nast, to make the switch on
