PETA
After thousands of demonstrations protesting Burger King's alleged complicity in the cruel treatment of animals, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is now "urging activists to put down their protest signs and put on their bibs" to try Burger King's vegetarian burger. Following PETA's 'Murder King' campaign, Burger King announced last year that it would support more humane treatment of animals. Now that Burger King is the first fast-food chain to feature a vegetarian burger at all U.S. locations, PETA reasons that it's important to support Burger King's step in the right direction by buying the BK Veggie; the group worries that if no one buys the burger it will soon become a thing of the past. Yet many animal rights activists disagree with this logic -- pointing out that the BK veggie is not completely vegan, and questioning why they would want to give money to a corporation that still supports the suffering and deaths of countless animals.

The BK Veggie is a dry and unimaginative patty. Why can't they bring out the same one they have in the UK: the spicy beanburger?
