Take This Jobless Recovery and Shove It

'Some of us go back to school in the hopes that the economy will
recover by the time someone hands us a diploma,' writes Genevieve
Roja. 'Or we move in with our parents, sell our cars, and apply for
jobs netting half what we used to make. There is no real feeling of
optimism -- just desperation.' After President Bush sent three of
his cabinet members on the road to spread the good news about the
economy, Roja is still not buying the administration's hype that
there is 'a positive feeling in America about our economy.' Like
the rest of the 3.4 million Americans who have lost their jobs
since Bush took office, she's too busy trying to hang on to some
shred of self-esteem.
