Utne Reader Names Santa Fe Resident a Visionary
National Magazine Selects Woody Tasch Among 25 People Who Are Changing the World
SANTA FE, N.M. (Oct. 21, 2010) — Utne Reader, the best of the alternative press, names Santa Fe resident Woody Tasch, founder of Slow Money, a visionary who is making the world a better place. Tasch is among 25 people the magazine highlights in its November/December issue, on newsstands now.
With Slow Money, Tasch aims to build local and national networks and create new financial products and services focusing on local food systems and economies. His goal in the next decade is to get 1 million Americans to invest 1 percent of their assets in local food systems.
“Throughout the year, as we read and plan issues, our editorial staff and select freelancers compile lists of people and institutions across disciplines that are doing work that challenges the status quo and promises positive, forward progress,” says David Schimke, Utne Reader’s editor in chief.
