Utne Reader Names Project HEALTH CEO a Visionary
National Magazine Selects Rebecca Onie Among 25 People Who Are Changing the World

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (Oct. 21, 2010) — Utne Reader, the best of the alternative press, names Rebecca Onie, CEO of Project HEALTH, with offices in Providence, a visionary who is making the world a better place. Onie is among 25 people the magazine highlights in its November/December issue, on newsstands now.

Onie founded Project HEALTH, a nonprofit organization, in Boston. The agency now has locations in Baltimore, Chicago, New York, Providence and Washington, D.C. Project HEALTH enlists volunteers to connect low-income patients at health clinics to housing, food, heating assistance and other vital nonmedical resources.

“Throughout the year, as we read and plan issues, our editorial staff and select freelancers compile lists of people and institutions across disciplines that are doing work that challenges the status quo and promises positive, forward progress,” says David Schimke, Utne Reader’s editor in chief.
