Interns at Utne Reader:
Ben Lurie, hailing from Lexington, Massachusetts, ventured into the mysterious Midwest to study at Carleton College and decided to stick around afterwards. While at Carleton, he majored in History, writing his thesis on the communications techniques and literary devices of 13th-century traveling monks. He also interned with the Martha’s Vineyard Gazette, copy-edited and wrote for The Carletonian, and served as investigations editor for The Lens. These days, he spends his free time playing board games to excess and pretending to know how to bake.
Jaimie Stevenson arrives to Minneapolis from the Front Range, where she lived in Colorado Springs since graduating from Colorado College in 2008. Apprenticing with a letterpress printer, reporting for the Colorado Springs Independent alt-weekly, and working as research assistant to the Dean of Colorado College have kept her brain in the game. She is currently building a trailer to pull her dog behind her bicycle.
