Feministing hipped me to this amazing video from Utrecht, a city of about 300,000 in the Netherlands, where one-third of all trips are made by bicycle. The video shows a busy—but never too gummed-up!—intersection during rush hour. Utne’s hometown of Minneapolis is a great city for cycling, but this bike-happy glimpse of Utrecht made me drool:

Hah, the only difference?? How about he added sense of safe mobility for the teenagers. BTW, even pedestrians will cause congestion in larger cities... In any case: thank you for the posting.

Also notice the reduced noise and exhaust gasses, active rather than sedentary bodies, and a small but significant reduction in the isolation of one individual from another.

About the only difference I saw was the size of the vechicle - bikes are smaller than cars - but still congestion -.- Greatly reduced - YES
