Oga Steve Abah
Playwright (Nigeria)
Utne Reader September / October 2007
Abah creates dramas based on the everyday lives of ordinary people: poor, powerless, without a channel for learning to cope with the pressures of contemporary life. He aims for an 'empowering' theater drawing on masquerade and dance, performance forms popular both in peasant society and among urban workers.
