Greg PalastIn episode 26 of the UtneCast podcast we’re changing up our format a bit. First, you’ll hear Part I of a two-part interview I did with Greg Palast, the investigative reporter for BBC television who broke the story of Republican vote fraud in the 2000 elections in Florida. Palast’s bestselling book, Armed Madhouse, has just been reissued with new information about the recent scandal over the firings of the US attorneys, and what he says are the White House’s plans to steal the 2008 election.

Then we’ll be joined by Rebecca Clarren, author of the article “Shuck and Jive: How industry and politicians are harvesting ethanol for all it’s worth” in the May/June Utne Reader that examines the real story behind the biofuel boom.

And finally, Joe Hart joins us again with a review of the new album “Miles Away” by singer/songwriter Gina Villalobos on Face West Records.
