Guidelines for Online Comments and Salons:

The Utne Reader salons and comments are designed to foster intelligent dialogue. To meet that mission, we will delete comments that include the following:

• abusive language
• unrelated material
• excessive foul language
• personal attacks
• racist, sexist, homophobic, and other discriminatory speech
• spam, including solicitations and/or advertising
