Proposition 8 has hardly been defeated. It remains in force, if even temporarily, by order of Judge Walker, most likely until the Supreme Court has its say on the matter. When and if the SCOTUS confirms this "defeat," I will celebrate. And if I get the opportunity to do so, it will be with the sad, sobering knowledge that "gayness" will still be a political football and matter of ugly divisiveness in our culture.
