Designer Drug, Benn Ray, Metro Times
What won’t people do to be on television? Answers to that question diminished by one last year, Benn Ray reports in Detroit’s weekly Metro Times. Ray’s piece about the two-year-old cable show Trading Spaces, describes a show devoted to the proposition that neighbors swap houses for two days while they redecorate a room in each other’s homes aided by professional designers. Resultant pink ceilings, hay-covered walls, and 'puke-green carpet' have resulted in no lawsuits, thanks to releases signed in advance by participants.
