Do You Have a Farmer Yet? Bob Banner, HopeDance
As demand for organic produce booms, more and more small farmers across the country are converting to an innovative new system called the CSA, writes Bob Banner in the Santa Barbara-based magazine HopeDance. 'The CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) is a relatively new marketing approach to farming where subscribers pay money up front for the season (amounting to approximately $16 a week). In return, the subscriber receives a weekly cooler of vegetables along with a newsletter with updates about the farm, recipes on what to do with those vegetables that you might not even know the name of.' -- LU
