The Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools district has expelled Channel One from its classrooms, reports Commercial Alert (Winter 2003). The move will free some 70,000 children in 125 schools from Channel One?s daily 12-minute TV programs, which feature two minutes of commercials for junk food, soda, video games, and violent entertainment.
