‘BGI’s new MBA in Sustainable Business Practice is unique in the
business education world and is leading the edge of a wave that
will soon break,’ says Rick Bunch, executive director of the
Bainbridge Island Graduate Institute. Founded in 2002, BGI’s
mission is ‘to be the leading values-driven business and management
school that prepares individuals to transform the world of work and
to help create sustainable, socially just economies and healthy
environments.’ BGI’s approach is not only to teach, but to do
research and develop curriculum as well. Bunch predicts the program
will have a major impact on business education nationwide, by
proving ‘that training in business sustainability is practical,
essential, and increasingly desired by both students and
employers.’ Now enrolling for fall 2003, BGI offers prospective
students registration and other information at bgiedu.org.
