| May / June 2003

How does a Jewish book publisher raised in New York end up with a South Indian doctor from a strict Brahmin family? He places an ad in an Indian newspaper for an arranged marriage, of course. The Sperlings recount the unlikely love story in A Marriage Made in Heaven: A Love Story in Letters (Ten Speed Press), a collection of more than 60 letters they exchanged during the intercontinental courtship.
