Abram is a sleight-of-hand magician who casts magic spells through his writing and lecturing. An ecologist, anthropologist, and philosopher, he is interested in “bettering relations between humans and the more than human world that we inhabit.” His numerous articles and essays on the confluence between ecology, philosophy, anthropology, and psychology have had a strong influence on the deep ecology movement. His book, The Earthly Body of the Mind: Animism, Language and the Ecology of Sensory Experience, will be published in 1995.
