Guantanamo Bay Guard StationPrius drivers may think they’re green, but they’ve got nothing on Guantanamo Bay. The symbol of American power abuse gets 30 percent of its electricity from on-site wind turbines, Vince Beiser writes for Mother Jones. In fact, Beiser reports that the Pentagon is “vying to be the country’s largest consumer of earth-friendly energy.” No word yet on plans to reuse water from waterboarding.
