Brown has been called “the guru of the global environmental movement” for his influential role in reformulating the way we think about world population and resources. He is president, senior researcher, and founder of the Worldwatch Institute, an environmental think tank. The institute’s State of the World Yearbook, Worldwatch papers, and World Watch magazine, which are translated into 11 languages, have informed a generation on global environmental, agricultural, economic, and population issues.
