If our descendents survive the next 500 years, it will be at least in part because they embraced Jackson’s vision of sustainable agriculture, earth stewardship, and the resettlement of rural areas. Jackson is president and founder of the Land Institute and the author of Meeting the Expectations of the Land, Altars of Unhewn Stone, and Becoming Native to This Place.
