Fad Diets Contribute to Obesity

Huge MealAtkins, Hallelujah, and Grapefruit diets may be making people fat. Chris Hawkey, president of the British Society of Gastroenterology said that fad diets are contributing to obesity, and that people need to focus on eating healthy, rather than simply losing weight. According to Hawkey, “The problem facing society is not the content of our diet but it’s the quantity we are consuming and the consequential impact of obesity.” It’s something to think about as families begin to gather for holiday meals.
