The Victoria Hotel in Freiburg, Germany, may be the world’s most environmentally friendly hotel, according to Earth Island Journal (Spring 2002). With rooftop solar panels and a nearby wind farm providing electricity, the 63-room hotel avoids creating some 20 tons of planet-warming carbon dioxide.
