McDonald’s Says No to Cipro

The Golden Arches and two other giant fast food chains recently announced they would not purchase chicken treated with Cipro-related antibiotics, reports Hope (May/June 2002). Wendy’s and Popeye’s have banned similarly treated poultry as well. The Centers for Disease Control has linked the use of antibiotics in animals to meat contaminated with resistant bacteria.
