A Minneapolis-based nonprofit is helping to raise money for a
local homeless shelter in a creative and thirst-quenching way: by
selling beer. The Spud Society has teamed with a local church and
two nearby breweries to produce and market Finnegan’s Irish Amber
beer, which is available in 30 local taverns and a host of liquor
stores, according to The Rake (November 2002).
Proceeds of the sales will benefit the cash-starved Love Power
shelter.
