Theater of Visions, Irmingard Anna
Kotelev, AurumXXL Edition
If you can’t make it to Venice’s carnival in person, here’s a way
to vicariously experience the wondrous event. This slide show of
Venice’s 2001 carnival strikes the eye repeatedly with its changing
photos of beautiful costumes and landscapes. Photographer Irmingard
Anna Kotelev has captured the awesome theatrical feel of the
carnival in her photos, which are haunting, colorful,
mysterious–and a very satisfying alternative to actually being
there. The poetic introduction to the display describes the essence
of the carnival and sets just the right tone for the dramatic
sights to be seen. You’ll no doubt want to press ‘replay’ a few
times after viewing the procession of scenes, to enjoy them again
and to catch all the details you missed the first time
around.
