Just as I was lamenting my four-figure income resulting from two
years of under-employment, I stumbled onto the Global Rich List web
site. After checking out the global income calculator, I learned
that I’m actually wealthier than 25 percent of the world
population. Even more astonishing: 50 percent of the U.S.
population earns a median income of $25,400 and falls into the top
10 percentile of the world’s wealth. The Global Rich List, created
by Poke, a creative company based in London, was designed to
challenge people’s perceptions of their personal wealth while
inspiring them to contribute some of their ‘extra’ money to
charity.
