Philadelphia’s new Sheraton Rittenhouse Square may be the most environmentally sound hotel in the country, according to E Magazine (Jan.-Feb. 2000). The hotel features specially filtered air, recycled building materials, organic cotton bedding, and chemical-free carpeting. Environmental responsibility comes at a price, though: A night’s stay starts at $269.
