A physicist and systems theorist, Capra explored the parallels between Eastern spirituality and Western science in his 1975 classic The Tao of Physics. He is the founder and director of the Center for Ecoliteracy in Berkeley. His other books include The Turning Point and Uncommon Wisdom.
